Rolling into the spotlight on June 2nd, 2023, during the first-ever International Volkswagen Bus Day, Volkswagen introduced the all-new ID. Buzz. This debut marked a striking evolution in Volkswagen’s legendary Bus lineage, signaling an electric era with a modernized twist on a vintage favorite: the three-row, all-electric ID. Buzz.

Organized in conjunction with The National Day Calendar, this inaugural event celebrated the global impact of the iconic Type 2 (VW Bus), while paving the way for its 21st Century successor. The ID. Buzz is slated to join Volkswagen of America's expansive all-electric vehicle roster and is anticipated to reach the North American market in 2024.

Designed with a nod to the past, the ID. Buzz masterfully integrates the Microbus’s iconic design into a future-ready electric vehicle. The exterior features familiar short overhangs, a spacious interior, and an optional two-tone colour palette, reminiscent of the Type 2's classic charm. However, it's within the vehicle where modernity truly shines through. The high-tech interior, progressive design features, and the latest EV technology position the ID. Buzz squarely in the vanguard of automotive advancement.

Cameron Batten, Chief Communications Officer, Volkswagen Group of America, highlighted the enduring cultural impact of the classic Type 2. He expressed his enthusiasm for the new age electric successor, the ID. Buzz, stating, "We're thrilled to create this annual day of celebration for Volkswagen bus fans and enthusiasts everywhere."

While retaining its iconic bus status, the ID. Buzz has been upgraded for the 21st Century. The retro design, paired with modern technology, creates an electric vehicle that's both charmingly familiar and refreshingly futuristic. It remains true to its roots as a versatile vehicle, equally comfortable transporting families or facilitating a road trip adventure.

The ID. Buzz stands out with its customizable configurations, available with 5, 6, or 7 seats, and offering all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive options. These options add flexibility to the driving experience, enabling the ID. Buzz to adapt to a wide range of individual needs and preferences.
