The Next Big Thing: Volkswagen's ID.7 Electric Sedan is (Almost) Here

At the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show last month, Volkswagen made its debut of the new ID.7 sedan with a digital camouflage pattern. This provided a look at the next model in its EV family and showed that it is an efficient electric sedan that can go the extra mile. Its special camouflage allows for amazing electroluminescent light effects. After the incredible success of the ID.4 SUV, this new sedan is Volkswagen's next global electric vehicle, which will be sold on three continents. Don't miss out - the world premiere of the series production version is coming in early 2023!

“With the new ID.7, we are extending our electric model range into the upper segments. The sedan will offer top-class technology and quality. The ID.7 is one of 10 new electric models that we are planning to launch by 2026. Our goal? To deliver suitable products for our customers in every single segment,” said Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars.

Exceptional Range

Volkswagen's ID.7 is based on the design language of their electric vehicle family, with features such as its aerodynamic front section and sloped roof aiding in energy efficiency and greater range. Air that passes through the front end is guided down the side of the car, forming an air curtain to minimize its drag coefficient alongside a short overhang and 116.9-inch wheelbase for a very spacious interior cabin. The anticipated WLTP cycle for European versions will be a maximum of 700 kilometres, offering an incredible performance overall.

Volkswagen Listened

Volkswagen has taken note of customer feedback and put in a lot of effort to improve the user experience with their latest MEB model, the ID.7, by introducing a host of new features with it. This includes a distinctive display concept and an augmented reality head-up display, a 38-centimetre (15-inch) screen, as well as digitally-controlled air vents and illuminated touch sliders for ease of operation.

Technology-rich

Volkswagen designed the ID.7 model with various technologies to create a more enjoyable user experience. It has an intelligent air conditioning system featuring Smart Air Vents that can start pre-cooling or pre-heating the interior in line with when the key is detected nearby while distributing air throughout wide areas quickly. Additionally, its large display will let users activate and personalize functions to their liking, and its voice command functionality provides drivers with the ability to make special requests, such as turning on the heated steering wheel if their hands are feeling cold.

Volkswagen's ID.7 electric sedan is the latest addition to the German automaker's growing lineup of electric vehicles as part of the ACCELERATE initiative to promote global electric mobility. This latest model, which will be available in Europe, China and North America, will be produced at the Emden factory for European buyers, joining the highly-acclaimed ID.4 as the second MEB vehicle manufactured there.
