AWD models receive a sporty 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. All Nissan Qashqai models use a continuously variable transmission that doesn’t deliver the same driving experience – not to mention its notoriously poor reliability.
Armed with its advanced transmission technology, the FWD Taos only use 6.6 L/100 km on the highway. This is much better than the Qashqai's highway rating of 7.3 L/100 km.
The 2022 Volkswagen Taos is more versatile than the Qashqai
Even with its compact size, the Taos delivers in terms of space. Passengers all benefit from more room compared to the Qashqai, but engineers have also made the cargo volume more welcoming for their stuff. First, the Taos includes 1,877 litres of cargo volume behind the front seats. The Nissan Qashqai only offers 1,500 litres in the same configuration.
But thanks to close to 800 litres of space, the Taos delivers great cargo volume even when it’s full of passengers. it The Qashqai’s only has 566 litres when it’s full of passengers.
